The Paul Morris Prize

Do you have a game or set of wargames rules that reflects some aspect of ancient or medieval warfare?
If so, the SOA would like to hear from you.
The Paul Morris Prize is an impressive decorated axe, awarded by the Society to the most innovative wargame or wargames rules published during the year. Both Society members and non-members are invited to submit designs for this year's prize.
In addition to the prize itself, it is the intention that the winning game or rules will be published by the Society and distributed with the March 2009 issue of Slingshot.
So if you have a game that others would enjoy playing, contact the Secretary now via the Contacts Page.

Slingshot Young Author Competition

To encourage younger people in the hobby, we have announced a prize for the best article written for Slingshot by a contributor under the age of 16.
You will need to be under 16 at the time when the competition closes, which will be 1st September 2008. (We may extend the closing date, but the age cutoff will not change)
The prize will be £30 to spend with any of the suppliers offering discounts to the Society.
Please send you entries to the editor@ the above domain name, or via regular mail, and indicate them as being for the "Slingshot Young Author Competition". Any article which fits the general requirements for Slingshot (See Here) is eligible. The prize will be judged by the SOA committee, and the winning entry hopefully published in November.
